Welcome back, Creeker Students and Families!

My name is Alex Yaychuk and I am your Principal for the 2023-2024 school year. I am delighted to work alongside our Vice Principal, Mme. Robichaud, while supporting all educators and support staff in the hopes of providing a quality learning experience for your child. We here are certainly eager to work with your child!

Your Teachers, Educational Assistants, Administrative Assistants, Custodians, and all support staff are committed to working together to foster an ideal learning environment that provides structure and stability to your child’s daily life. If you are new to the Creek, I am positive that you will soon see and experience the level of dedication and commitment that our incredible team here at GC demonstrate, on a daily basis.

We have a number of important events and dates which will be communicated to you throughout the school year, typically by weekly emails or by the occasional voicemail. If you are not receiving these messages, please inform our front office (453-5409).

Within this packet of information, you will find Data Collection Forms along with other pertinent info to be signed and returned in your child’s bookbag or communication bag. Our wonderful administrative assistants are happy to assist all families if they have questions on how to complete these.

Additionally, families interested in signing up for SchoolCashOnline can now register and begin paying student fees ($60 for Kindergarten to Grade 2 & $65 for Grade 3 to Grade 5). Please note, an additional surcharge fee is required when using SchoolCashOnline.

I also encourage all families to review the Garden Creek Family Handbook which includes a wealth of helpful information including: Hot Lunch, bell schedule, transportation, school safety, and much more! This can be accessed on our school website under the ‘Current Students’ tab.

Lastly, I would like to add that our upcoming ‘Meet the Teacher Night’ will be conducted in-person at the school on Wednesday, September 20th. This evening will provide a chance to see your child’s new classroom and hear about the various learning opportunities that will be taking place throughout the academic year. We will begin with a fundraising BBQ at 5:00pm in front of the school followed by an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher in-person between 6:00pm-7:00pm. Proceeds from this fundraiser (donation boxes will be available) will help support various school endeavors and projects that fall outside the scope of our school budget.
